| our
history |
Ellis Coffee Company is proud of our long and rich history
which
dates back to 1854 when the Ellis family established a
coffee roasting
operation in central Philadelphia along with their grocery business.
In 1952, Harry Strauss purchased the
company, and along with his
sons Bernard and William,
continued the tradition of offering the
finest coffees available.
In 1976, the current President and CEO,
Gene Kestenbaum,
Bernard's son-in-law, joined the business. Ellis
Coffee
Company is a fourth generation family business with
the family
actively involved in pursuing the mission of the company.
Our
commitment to quality pioneered the use of non-atmospheric
packaging,
enabling us to ship the freshest coffee from coast to coast.
|
| It is this commitment that earned us ISO certification for our
quality management system. Although we have expanded our business
to include a wide variety of allied products and coffee brewing equipment,
our focus on serving quality coffees continues to be the hallmark
of our business. We continue to serve the areas finest hotels, convenience
and retail stores, restaurants, food services, fast food establishments,
and vending and office coffee service customers. |
